Holding to Our Roots through Technology Project has been realized!

Holding to Our Roots through Technology Project has been realized under the coordinatorship of İzmir Commodity Exchange with the particular collaboration of Lifelong Learning, Vocational Education and Development Association and Aegean Forest Foundation in which Bakioğlu Holding Group Companies act as a founding member, and also Ege University and Institute of Entrepreneurship Development (IED) which is based in Greece.

The opening meeting of the project, which is supported within the scope of the “Promoting Decent Future of Work Approach with a Focus on Gender Equality Grant Scheme” for which Ministry of Labor and Social Security acts as the contracting authority and Izmir Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry, Olive Research Institute and Turuncu Dernek (Orange Association) act as contributors, has been held.

Within the scope of the project, which is scheduled for 12 months, theoretical and practical trainings will be offered to young individuals and agriculture workers between the ages of 18 to 30 to empower them to lead transformation in agriculture. The plantation field of 30,000 olive trees of the Aegean Forest Foundation will be used as the pilot implementation site for this purpose. The project aims to contribute to the adaptation of young people to the digital transformation in agriculture, while increasing employment and achieving the goals of Gender Equality, Decent Work and Economic Growth, Responsible Consumption and Production, Climate Action and Partnerships for the Goals, which are among the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
